Nowadays, the development of technology allows people to work from another place, such as home, without going to the office. While some people would argue that solely employees could reap the advantages from this trend, I disagree with this view and I believe it is a win-win situation for both bosses and workers.
On the one hand, employers certainly gain various advantages when working remotely. Firstly, telecommuting offers staff flexible schedules, allowing them to work at their own pace and while at same time they could manage to spend more quality time with their family members or to carry out domestic responsibilities, such as picking up children after school. Secondly, this trend is particularly suitable for jobs that require creativity such as graphic designing where they could not create high-quality and innovative products if they work under strict supervision. Finally, working at home could lead to lower expenditure and greater efficiency. It is evident that teleworkers not only cut down massive amounts of money on such things as gas, public transit passes, or professional clothing but also save a great deal of time commuting to and from the office.
On the other hand, this form of working also brings many benefits to employees. Perhaps the principal benefit is that by utilizing advanced communication technology, they could run the operation of the business easily. The clearest example of this is that entrepreneurs could hold teleconferences instead of previous traditional meetings or they can supervise workers effectively by making video calls. The other benefit is that they probably save a great deal of money from a reduction in exorbitant infrastructure costs and facility maintenance expenses because of less office space and fewer office supplies needed. As a result, those resources could be allocated to more important issues such as medical insurance for staff or give raises to deserving telecommuters who are consistently productive at work, thus boosting workplace morale and strengthening the business
In conclusion, I would argue that this is a positive tendency which provides certain advantages to both staff and employers.
